1º - You should never mention that you have excess of lugage. It can happen that the check-in guy pretends that nothing is wrong and you ended up paying no extras.
2º Never, EVER, decide to go to the queue for the metal detector at the time of your gate open. Try to go like AT LEAST half an hour before, or you can end up crying like a baby in front of the security guys so they let you pass in front of everybody so you don’t miss your flight.
3º Crying like a baby is surprisingly a good method to make security pass more items of hand luggage than they should be.
4º When people at the airports say to you "Oh, don't worry, your gate is just right there", don't believe them. For them, just there can be like 400 meters for normal people.
5º People at airports can be very insensible. They will not help you, or even look at you, even if you are in the middle of their ways with your entire luggage spread out on the floor. Nobody cares.
6º Sometimes you can catch a plane, even if it is 5 minutes away from the departure. And instead of being angry with you for delaying the flight, they help you to carry your luggage inside the plane. And when you get there, they even ask a flight attendant to give you a glass of water, because you are out of your breath.
7º There aren't only cute female attendants. There are also veeeeery handsome male flight attendants.
8º Karma really screws you up. When you think you are the best because you were able to catch the plane, some stupid damage in one of the bathrooms of the airplane makes you (and everybody in the plane) sit there and wait AN HOUR AND A HALF.
9º They put Tchaikovsky for people to listen. You’ve got to admit that it is very calming to listen to the Nut Cracker while you are waiting for them to solve their stupid technical problem.
10º If you hate or get scared when flying, try not to show that to the other people. At least not too much. It is embarrassing to be the only person that closes her eyes and grab on to her chair really tight, when we are taking off, while the other passengers look like nothing is happening.
11º Flying alone gets reaaaallly boring. Especially if you have to spend 5 hours on the plane.
12º The plane staff actually thinks that the appropriate shows to distract the passengers during the flight are dog contests, stupid prank shows , mute films and National Geographic documentaries. So long and farewell to the dearest blockbusters.
13º The pilot's English abilities are not so good. If I wasn’t Portuguese, I probably wouldn’t understand what he is trying to say.
14º Meals on board can be surprisingly good.
15º Don’t you ever wear tight shoes. There’s a high probability that your feet will get swollen and you will spend the rest of the trip wishing you could take them off.
16º High heels are also not a good idea, especially if you are carrying too much luggage.
17º If you stay at the window seat, try not to be all the time opening and/or closing it. People at your side can find that extremely annoying.
18º It is nice to take a nap on the trip.
19º Going up is fun. Going down is reeeeeeeaaaly scary. And your ears suffer a lot more.
20º When the plain stops, just stay in your seat, because everybody will stand up at the same time and try to get out of the plane. Be patient, and you will be able to leave without being crushed by some old lady that wants to pass in front of you.
21º In some airports, there are little cars that bring the disabled persons. So if you hear a horn, try to look back to see if it is for you, or they can easily ran over you, or pass really really close to you, and it's not nice.
22º Do not freak out with every sound the plane makes. No, the plane is not falling into pieces, you’re fine. Plaines just do weird noises.
So, I had my first adventure even when I was still back home. It was a good start ;)

So little time, so many things
So we reach the final countdown. five days. time passed so quickly. it seems yesterday I found out I was going to copenhagen. Still kept the messages of my friends and family congratulating me for going to my first choice. Still remember how I felt when I discover where I was going. Can't believe it has almost passed a year. time really does fly.
But now that I am so close of going away, I've been looking even further back. First year at college. High School. Even kindergarden. All of this memories keep constantly flowing into my head, and I find myself missing that times. This nostalgic thoughts will probably travel with me till copenhagen, but I don't care. I like remebering old good times. I'll bring some photographs, that I hope will make me close to the ones I love. Close to what I call home. Maybe I will be able to find another kind of "home"...
In the meanwile, lots of troubles with packing....can't make 5 months weight 20kg!
Still have a lot of things to pack, and don't know how to make them lighter! Any magical formula?
